The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever. - Psalm 28:7-9
The term epiphany comes from the Greek, epiphania which means "to show" or "to make known." It is our mission at the Church of the Epiphany to do just that – to make Jesus known! As the Three Kings came to adore and to present their gifts before the Lord, so too do we invite you. Be part of a parish that has come to know the blessings of offering all of our time, talent, and treasure in gratitude to a God who has offered Himself to us. Christ's ministry is an outreach of love. We are all called to minister wherever Christ would have us work to heal and free others. United Methodists believe in God's saving grace, which means the unearned and loving action of God in our daily lives. And that through faith we are saved through Jesus Christ. In spite of suffering, violence, and evil in the world, we assert that God's grace exists everywhere. Despite any circumstance, we can always have a new life with a just and loving God. The reign of God is both a present and a future reality. Park United Methodist is located in North Brainerd. They have a sister chapel located in Baxter, Light of the Lakes Methodist Church.
“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21) (Read by Max McLean. Provided by The Listener's Audio Bible.)

Episcopal missionaries came to Minnesota Territory in the 1850’s, working up the Mississippi River and reaching out to local Native Americans and pioneer settlers alike. In 1871 the Rev. Joseph Gilfillan arrived in Brainerd, a “wild and wooly” railroad and logging center of about 400 persons, and made the rounds of saloons, hotels and boarding houses to invite one and all to church. For a time services were held in the pine woods of what is now Gregory Park, until the first St. Paul’s Church was built. That wooden structure was replaced in 1931 by the current stone church; an education and office wing in matching stone was added in 1988. For more than a century St. Paul’s has welcomed rich and poor of all races, backgrounds, and circumstances to take part in our ministries and outreach programs, solemn worship and gala celebrations. We invite you to make St. Paul’s your Brainerd Lakes Area church home.
