Tom Rimarcik

October 21, 1949 — November 10, 2019

Tom Rimarcik, 70, of Minneapolis and Randall, finished his life’s journey on Sunday, November 10, 2019 surrounded by his four daughters.  Please join Tom’s family as they celebrate his life from 4-7 PM, Thursday, November 21 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel (301 Pacific Avenue, Randall, MN 56475). A private interment will take place at Cushing Union Cemetery.

Tom was born with amazing blue eyes on October 21, 1949, in Minneapolis.  He was the son of Paul J. and June M. (Nessman) Rimarcik.  Following his graduation from high school, Tom worked a variety of jobs before dedicating 43 years as a skilled union glazier.  At the age of 24, Tom began constructing his own cabin on the Lagerquist Fish Lake in Randall.  He was most proud of his work and appreciated the escape where he could spend time birdwatching and hearing the loons call.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He liked to socialize, enjoyed dancing with his gal pals, and was a constant presence at Bar Bingo and Meat Raffles.  Always willing to lend a hand, “Big Tom” was often called upon to help out his friends because there was not much he couldn’t do – plumbing, electrical or even baking some of the best bars you ever tasted - he was a true Renaissance man.  Tom’s grandchildren were a great addition to his life, and he cherished the time they spent together.

Tom will be missed by his four daughters, Amy (Brian) Carpenter, Kim (Aaron) Van Heel, Jodi (Ron) Nickell, and Missy (Mark) Kvamme; sister, Renee (Emmitt) Hegg; brother-in-law, Ed Forpahl; nine beautiful grandchildren, Cole, Emma, Gavin, Colin, Alexis, Lily, MacKenzie, Taylor, and Brooklynn; and many nieces and nephews who held a very special place in Tom’s heart.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and June; brothers, Jeffrey and Greg; and sister, Sandie Forpahl.
