Roger Yundak

December 5, 1934 — March 4, 2019

Roger Sheldon Yundak, 84, of Brainerd passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home on Round Lake.

A Celebration of Life and Resurrection will be held for Roger at Noon on Saturday, March 16th at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Pastor Kari Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served following the service in the church’s fellowship hall.

Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen M. Yundak and his daughters Stephanie Yundak Castellanos and Stacy Yundak as well as his grandchildren Xanthea, Jaime and Braden. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Judy Anderson (Neil), his nephews Mark Anderson and Brian Anderson and his son-in-law Cesar Castellanos.

Roger was born Dec. 5, 1934 in Minneapolis and graduated from West High School and studied art at the University of Minnesota. He served in the United States Marines Corp and was stationed in Korea. Roger moved his young family from the Metro to the Brainerd Lakes Area and was pleased to call Round Lake home for nearly 50 years. When he returned from his work travels across the country as a wholesale clothing rep, he considered home his “slice of heaven” as he could golf and fish in the summer, hunt in the fall and snowmobile in the winter. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather and overall loved to spend time with family and always had a twinkle in his eye that matched his teasing, loving spirit. He was strong in his faith and content to spend his last days peacefully at home with family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Adeline and Walter Yundak, and his best friend, his dog Pete.

Committal of Roger’s ashes will be at the Lutheran Church of the Cross Columbarium following the service celebrating his life.
