Pearl "Gertie" Domeno

Pearl “Gertie” Domeno, age 80, passed away Wednesday, September 29 2021.

Gertie was born on October 14, 1940 in Aldrich, MN to Alexander and Leona Cameron as the ninth of ten children. She lived in Aldrich until age 17, at which time she moved to Los Angeles. By the age of 19 she had met the love of her life, Herbert. They were wed at age 21 at Mother of Sorrows Church in Aldrich, MN. Through their 60 years of marriage, they shared their time between both Minnesota and California and raised three sons.
Gertie was renowned for bringing magic into the lives of her husband, children, siblings, nieces and nephews, friends and community. She would regularly say her best investment was her family, and her definition of family included anyone she loved.

She is survived by her husband Herb, her sons Greg and Matthew, her grandson Greg “Bucky”, her brother David “Ike” (Carol) Cameron, and numerous extended family members. She is preceded in death and now united with her son Tim, nephews Craig, Mark, James “Skip”, and Franklin, brothers James, Kenneth, Loren “Lefty”, sister Harriet, brothers Donald “Don”, Jerome, Frankie, and sister Theresa.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN on Tuesday October 5th, 2021. Visitation will be held one hour before.

In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting memorials be made to the Mother of Sorrows Preservation Church in Aldrich, MN. Memorials can be sent to Mother of Sorrows Preservation Church ℅ Brenny Funeral Home at 7348 Excelsior Rd N, Baxter, MN 56425.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
