Marilyn Brandt

June 5, 1936 — October 4, 2019

Marilyn LaJune Brandt, age 83, died October 4, 2019 at the Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia.  A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 1-4pm at the Wahkon Inn.

Marilyn was born June 5, 1936 in Ford Township to Floyd and Sylvia (McDowell) Shelton.  She was united in marriage to Jim Lancrain in 1955 in Northwood, IA.  Jim passed away in 1970.  After being widowed in her early 30’s, Marilyn worked various jobs to support her four children.  In 1980, Marilyn married Richard “Dick” Brandt in Milaca, MN.  Dick passed away in 1994.  Marilyn is a past member/founder of the VFW Auxiliary Post #2816.  She will be forever remembered as strong, hardworking, loving, stubborn, caring, and a caregiver to many.  Marilyn had a great sense of humor and a very kind heart.  Marilyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Terri (Steve) Frank of Minnetonka, MN; Jerry “Root” (Sheila Ward) Lancrain of Onamia, MN, Dan Brandt of Isle, MN and Erin (Jim) Kennedy of Grand Forks, ND; her siblings, Darlene Nelson, Joyce (Jordan) Peterson and Veva Modesto; 11 grandchildren, 3 bonus grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jim Lancrain and Dick Brandt; sons, Jimmy Lancrain and Billy Lancrain; siblings, Tinsie, Robert, Gladys, Glendoris, George, Lloyd and Richard.
