Marcum "Mike" Wilcox

Marcum (Mike) Wilcox passed away peacefully Sunday Sept.8,2019 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN.  Funeral services will be at 1PM on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Dan Johnson will officiate and burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, MN.  Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home in Baxter.

Mike was born March 7,1937 to Royal and Doris (Lantz) Wilcox in Sunrise, MN. Mike grew up and attended school at Sunrise until he met the love of his life Arlene. They were married on July 6,1957 and moved to Minneapolis, MN. Mike worked at Honeywell until 1970 when they purchased Little Pine Resort and moved the family to Pillager, MN.

He worked at Norberts Polaris, Burlington Northern, and the Turkey Farm until he landed a job at Potlach.  Mike work at Potlach for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed his family and friends in Pillager until his health failed him and had to move to Edgewood Vista.

Mike is survived by his sons, Brian (Merjem) Wilcox of Brainerd, Rick (Linda) Wilcox of Pillager; grandchildren,  Jayme (Tanya) Wilcox of St. Paul, MN, John Wilcox of Brainerd, MN, David Wilcox of Fridley, MN, Andrew (Ashlee) Wilcox of Proctor, MN, Timothy (Julie) Wilcox of Moundsview, MN, Jaclyn Wilcox of Fridley, MN,  Tyler Wilcox of Pillager, MN;  11 great grandchildren whom brought him much love and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Marlys (Jerry) Lundeen of St Croix, WI,; brother, Rodney (Betty) Wilcox of Pillager, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins which he’s had a very close relationship with and all the people in the community which he loved.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Arlene; son, Barry; grandson, Nathan Ackerson; and parents.
