Lynnie Loucks

October 11, 1978 — April 28, 2022

Lynnie Ann Loucks, age 43, passed away on April 28, 2022, in Brainerd, MN. A Celebration of Life service for Lynnie will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022, at Heritage Church in Baxter. There will be a visitation for friends and family from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and the Celebration of Life service will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Lynnie was born on October 11, 1978, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Richard and Delorise (Mundt) Woolever. Her mother passed when Lynnie was 13 and her and her sister Monica moved in with their aunt Donna (Woolever) Phillips and her husband Tony Phillips. She attended school in Elkhorn but moved to Pillager her senior year and graduated from Pillager High School in 1997. She graduated from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN with an AAS degree in Photography. Lynnie and her husband Dennis owned and operated L.A. Portrait Studio in Willmar for 7 years and in the Brainerd Lakes Area for 3 more.  Later Lynnie attended and graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Wadena with a Cosmetology degree. She worked in the Baxter/Brainerd area as a cosmetologist for the last several years.

She married Dennis Loucks (son of Bob & Joan Loucks) on September 17, 1997, on an island in the middle of the Mississippi river near Rice, Minnesota. Dennis and Lynnie had four children together: Zoe, Bobbi, Zion, and Jada. She was also stepmom to Dennis’ three older children, Trisha, Travis, and Lyndsi. Lynnie had one grandchild and was the beloved Grandma Lynnie to Dennis’ other eight grandchildren.

Lynnie is survived by her husband Dennis, her children Zoe, Bobbi, Zion and Jada, her stepchildren Trisha (Loucks) Szczodroski, Travis Loucks and Lyndsi Loucks, her siblings Gordon Woolever, Shawn Woolever and Monica (Woolever) Schneider, her grandmother Delores Woolever, her aunt Donna (Woolever) Phillips, uncle Donald Woolever and uncle Walter Woolever, and her mother-in-law Joan Loucks.

Lynnie is preceded in death by her parents.

Lynnie had a zest for life that is rare. She had an infectious smile, a laugh that could be recognized anywhere, and a joy that never stopped. She was adventurous and loved to travel and explore. She loved everyone unconditionally and always saw the best in every person she met. She had no problem laughing at herself and did it often. She had a generous spirit that is also rare. She will be missed deeply but she will continue to live through the seeds of life and joy she planted in so many people’s lives.

The amount of love and support our family has received at this time is beautifully overwhelming and speaks of the impact Lynnie has had on so many people. Hearing stories of Lynnie from so many already has helped us begin our healing process. We want to hear more stories. We have created a website to honor Lynnie and a place where you can share your stories of Lynnie with us. Please share, we need to hear them as we continue this healing process. Please go to the website:

A fund has also been setup to help the family. There is a link on the website to donate.

“At my funeral nobody better be wearing black!” is something Lynnie told us often. We are having a Celebration of Lynnie’s Life on Saturday May 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Church in Baxter and we understand that everyone grieves and processes differently, but we want to take this time to honor Lynnie and at her request we encourage everyone to dress up like Lynnie would, bright, colorful, and fun. Healing for us looks like a room full of bright colors. All are welcome.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
