Lois Hendricks

Lois Lucille Hendricks, 80, of Crosslake, entered Heaven at Golden Horizon’s Assisted Living on Friday, May 24, 2019.  Services for Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Crosslake Lutheran Church. Family and friends are invited to gather one-hour prior. Interment will follow at Pinewood Cemetery.

Lois was born July 11, 1938 in Excelsior, MN, the daughter of Louis and Lorraine (Arnold) Japs. She was Baptized as an infant and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Watertown, MN. Lois graduated from Watertown High School in 1956. Later that year she married James Lange. The couple made their home in Minnetonka and were blessed with three children, Kimberly, James and Timothy. Lois raised her family and worked part-time for Blake School. She later did office work for various employers. In 1982, Lois married Ron Hendricks. The couple moved to Perch Lake in Baxter and eventually built their lake home on Lake Ossawinnamakee in Pequot Lakes. While Ron worked construction, Lois traveled with him and helped with keeping the books and cleaning up the job sites.

Lois was very active in her faith and enjoyed volunteering at church. She taught Sunday school and VBS for many years, and served in other capacities as well. She loved camping, and traveling. Lois liked playing games, especially card games. 5oo was a game she enjoyed with friends for many years. She loved her coffee, and visiting with family and friends. She loved to entertain those she cared about. She especially loved to make people laugh and kept up her sense of humor till the end of her life here on earth.

She will be missed by her mom, Lorraine Japs, of Longville; children, Kimberly (Stephen) Wetzel, of Chaska, James (Teryl) Lange, of Ulm, MT; and Timothy (Joelle) Lange, of Shakopee; step- children, Cory (Rishona) Hendricks, of Brainerd and Sara (Matthew) Bateman of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca, Dustin, Drake, Stephanie, Samantha, Angela (Josh), Ashley (Blake), Maya, and Siena; great-grandchildren, Syriphia, Charlotte, and James; sister, Jean (Gene) Brandenburg, of Shorewood; brother, Gerald (Kathy) Japs, of LaPorte; and brother-in- law, Harry Swanstrom, of Houston, TX; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; dad, Louis, and sister, Linda.
