Julia Wellentin

Julia C. Wellentin, 102, Onamia, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Mille Lacs Health System Long Term Care Facility in Onamia.  A Memorial Service will be held at the Long Term Care Facility on Saturday, June 15, 2019, 10am.  Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Hillman, MN, at a later date.

Julia Clara Holmes was born on October 15, 1916 in Hughton, Saskatchewan, Canada, eldest child of Claude and Constance (Litchy) Holmes. The family moved to the Holdingford (MN) area and later to the Pine Center (MN) area. Julia was united in marriage with Clarence Wellentin on November 6, 1945 at Sisseton, South Dakota. They made their home in Pine Center where they farmed.  Clarence died on January 9, 1986.

Julia is survived by her two daughters: Jeanette (Gene) Kern of Maplewood, MN & Marie Wellentin of Randall, MN; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 32 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Constance; her husband: Clarence; son: Clyde; four siblings: Clyde Holmes, Irene Kuschel, Caroline Anderson, Raymond Holmes and Cyril Holmes; three grandchildren; a great grandchild; and a great great-grandchild.
