Jesse Woods

Jesse “Daddy” Allen Woods, 65, died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at his home in Baxter. Private family services will be at a later date.

Jesse was born in Midland, Texas on January 16, 1954, to Jack and Ramona (Harrison) Woods. After school, he worked as a logger and truck driver, delivering boats. Jesse married his wife Mary Jane Sandelin-Woods on August 19th in Reno, Nevada. He lived in Eureka, California for 20 years before settling in the Baxter area with his beloved, Mary Jane. He retired in January 2018 due to his failing health.  Jesse was described as joyful, loving, and darling. Every day brought a smile to Jesse’s face, and he loved being home with his family. Jesse enjoyed ham radio, sheltie dog agility training, quarter horses, trail riding, and a good steak. He enjoyed the serenity out on the horses with Mary Jane and the tranquility of spending time together. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ramona Woods. Jesse is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Sandelin-Woods, of Baxter; his children, Jennifer (Cody) White, Steven Sandelin, and Alexander Sandelin; his siblings, Jerry Woods, Gwen Wimmer, and Jack Woods.

Jesse’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Croix Hospice and St. Otto’s adult care program for their care and compassion.
