Irene Jurgensen

Irene Jurgensen, 104, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Bethany in Brainerd. Services for Irene will be 3:00PM, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Kingdom Hall in Brainerd, MN.

Irene was born August 2, 1914 in Crosby, North Dakota to Otto and Elvira (Oster) Kjorlien. She graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis. Irene was married to Russell Jurgensen in 1938 in Minneapolis. She worked at Minneapolis Moline and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Irene retired to Emily, MN in the early 1970’s. She was Baptized as one of the Jehovah Witnesses in 1941.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Jane (Lovell) Baker; son, David Jurgensen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Elvira; husband Russell of 61 years; brothers, Ivan, Donald, Gordon; sisters, Lila Nemic, Marion Bjorklund and Ruth Kapitan.
