Elaine Borders

Elaine Borders, 87, of Baxter died at Lakewood Hospital in Staples, MN on Friday, November 1, 2019.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday November 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Wednesday at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter or Thursday and 1 hour prior to the services at St. Francis Catholic Church. A Rosary prayer will be held at 6:45 pm on Wednesday at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter.

Elaine was born on May 8, 1932 in Elmora to Joseph and Verena (Smith) Jaglo.  She married Clinton “Buster” Borders on February 20, 1952, the couple shared 56 years together.

She was a great wife, mother, “Auntie Skip” to many, friend, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, and partner.  Elaine was always a pillar of strength backed by her unwavering faith making her a rock in her community, often times becoming a mother figure to those around her.  Elaine had a passion for camping and was a proud member of the Rollin’ Rangers for many years. She will always be remembered with so much fondness and love. Elaine was one of the most nurturing, thoughtful, caring and sweetest people, who always gave a sincere hug followed by her contagious laughter.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Elaine was the oldest of her siblings and the last to join them and their parents in the great beyond. She is survived by her children, Renae (John) Vogt, Brainerd, Sandra Magnan (Friend Gary Sholl), Apache Junction, AZ, Ricky (Peggy) Borders, Cokato, Jeffrey (Lisa) Borders, Annandale, Kim (Barry) Sell, Baxter, Bradley (Barb) Borders, Sartell, Daniel (Chris) Borders, Brainerd, and Gregory (Sarah) Borders, Fargo, ND; 30 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and devoted companion Paul Althoff. She was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph and Verena, husband Buster, grandson Matthew Sell, great grand daughter Breanna Cantu, siblings Patricia Rogers, Joanne White, and Joseph Jaglo Jr.
