Dwight Smith Parker, 82, of Lakeshore died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN, with a reception immediately following. Pastor Kari Williamson will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather from 6-8PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the celebration all at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Clotho on May 17, 2019.

Dwight was born May 20, 1936, in Cooperstown, ND to Fred and Helen (Turnquist) Parker. The Parker family moved to the family farm in MN in 1939 where Dwight grew up with his siblings. In 1953 Dwight proudly enlisted in the armed forces during the Korean Conflict. Dwight married the love of his life, Shirley Eblen, in 1958. They raised three children together and were married 55 years. Dwight worked at Potlatch for 39 years, bought and sold horses, firewood and had his own snowmobile repair business. Dwight worked hard and played harder. He was a devoted family man, coaching his sons’ baseball team for eight years while working the swing shift at the paper mill. Dwight was an avid pool player, card player, snowmobiler and great friend. Dwight was one in a million and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His family was the most important thing to him and his grandchildren were his energy later in life.

Dwight is survived by his children, Debra (Art) Sanbeck of Mora, MN; Thomas (Michele) Parker of Petersburg, AK; daughter in law, Cindy Parker; grandchildren, Anna and Alec Sanbeck, Madisyn and Meghyn Parker; siblings, Nonie Stumvoll of Nisswa, Fred (Linda) Parker of Brainerd, Anecia "Nissy" (Tom Oliphant) Langenbau of Hutchinson, Tim (Peg) Parker of Nisswa, Patsy (Jim) Knauss of Lino Lakes, Evelyn (Ron) Knauss of Forest Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; son, Michael; siblings, Theone Schultz, Dolly, Douglas, Tommy, and Jim Parker.
