Donna Mykkanen

Donna Marie Mykkanen 86, of Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday September 7, 2021. A Joint Celebration of Life for Donna and Vicki Mykkanen will be held on June 17, 2022 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter.    A Visitation for friends and family will be held at 12:00pm, and the Memorial Service will begin at 1:00pm.

Donna was born on April 30,1935 to John and Gladys (Gakin) Johnson in Brainerd, Minnesota. She married Clifford Mykkanen on July 3, 1954 in a joint ceremony with her sister Marlene and Earl Olson.

When Donna was fifteen, she started babysitting for a family five days a week. She later worked in a garment factory but once her and Cliff started having a family, she stayed home to raise her children. After the children were grown, she worked for Good Samaritan in the laundry services department.

Donna is survived by her children; Ralph (Dawn), and John (Denise), siblings; Marlene Olson, Judy Kirpatrick, Cheryl Young, David Johnson, Ronald Johnson, and Steven Johnson, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford, daughter Vicki, parents; John and Gladys Johnson, and brother, Kenneth Johnson.
