Barbara Tollefson

Barbara R. Tollefson, 63, of Motley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, after a long battle with cancer Friday, May 17, 2019.  Services for Barbara will be held at Noon, Friday, May 24, 2019 at Lincoln Evangelical Free Church.  Family and friends are welcome to gather starting at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Barbara was born September 27, 1955, the daughter of Ismael and Ethel (Taylor) Alvarez in Chicago, IL.  She married Bryan Tollefson on July 3, 2010.  She spent her life devoted for caring for others and found much joy working for more than 25 years as a Nurse at Lakewood Health System.  She liked to garden, enjoyed traveling, and never turned down a chance to kick up her heels on the dance floor.  Barbara was a devoted Christian.

She will be missed by her husband, Bryan; children, William Brabec, Rachel Carmona, and Bobby Brabec; her children’s father, Larry Brabec; brother, John Alvarez; sisters, Maggie Dehn and Linda Turner; and grandson, Arlo Brabec.  She was preceded by death by her parents and sister, Julie.
