William Heishman

William E. "Bill" Heishman, 78, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter, with Pastor Darrell Pedersen officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Camp Ripley on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 AM.

Bill was born March 7, 1933 in Malcom, IA, the son of Elza and Margaret (Stimson) Heishman. After graduating Brainerd High School, Bill enlisted in the US NAVY in 1951 and served in country for four years. Following his honorable discharge, Bill worked in construction and also as a truck driver. Bill was a past president of the Eagles Club in Tama, IA. He was also a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, camping, and fishing with his grandchildren.

Bill will be missed by his wife, Kathleen; his children, Deborah (Doug) Wonders, of Motley, Mark Heishman, of Brainerd, and Cindy Quam, of Brainerd; eleven grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
