Virginia Mezner

Virginia E. Mezner, 91, a lifelong resident of Brainerd/Baxter, died peacefully with her daughter and sister-in-law present on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Good Samaritan Village-Bethany in Brainerd, MN.

She was born in Brainerd to Fred and Jesse Hohensee. She married Frank Mezner in 1946. She was a loving wife and mother, a wonderful friend to many and enjoyed owning Mezner's Young World clothing store in downtown Brainerd in the 1970's. She had a feisty personality and a warm heart. She loved her books, her yellow Labradors, White Sand Lake, the Minnesota Vikings, and Bar Harbor.

She is survived by son, Michael Mezner of Sandy, OR; daughter, Laurel Mezner of Baxter, MN; brother, Howard Hohensee of Buffalo, MN; granddaughter, Mariah; two nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank in 1990.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. A small private Memorial Service will be held as Virginia requested. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Gardens or HART (Heartland Animal Rescue Team) of Brainerd, MN.
