Virgie Birge

Virgie Birge, age 94, of Backus, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at her home. She was born to Harvey and Bessie Holden on August 16, 1918, in Backus.

Virgie is survived by her children: Patsy Birge, Joyce Ecker (Dick), Larry Birge (Theresa), Gary Birge (Annie), Barbara Hendricks (Scott), Sharon Olson (Gary), John Birge, Rebecca Birge, Janice Beckler (Mark); 55 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virgie was also like a second mom to her extended family members, Aamber Zaffke Smith (deceased), Blair Zaffke and Celeste Zaffke Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bob Holden and Norris Holden.

Services will be 2 PM on Saturday, June 22, at the Church of the Nazarene, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
