Violet Floyd, age 95, of Hackensack, passed away Tuesday, May 22, at the Good Samaritan Society, Pine River. She was born to Jerry and Jennie Dvorak on August 5, 1922, in Walker, Iowa. Violet worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley schools for many years. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary and the Women’s Fellowship group at Union Congregational Church where she also taught Sunday School.
Violet is survived by her daughters: Donna Williams (Michael), Diana Slinkard (Harlan), Roberta Floyd (Danny Keep); grandchildren: Steven, Robert, Christopher, Cathy Jo, Jill, Harlan II; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Floyd; son, Allen “Butch” Floyd; sister, Eulabel Potts; and brother, Marvin Dvorak.
Services will be 11 AM on Wednesday, May 30, at Union Congregational Church, Hackensack. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hackensack.
