Mr. Thomas Edward "Tom" Huesmann, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Crosslake, Minnesota. Born on June 12, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tom lived a life filled with dedication to his family, work, and community.
Tom spent much of his career as a skilled machinist before transitioning to own and operate a small engine repair shop in Crosby, Minnesota. Even after retiring, he continued to share his expertise by repairing small engines for friends and neighbors from his garage. Known for his generosity, Tom was always ready to help with projects or repairs and enjoyed sharing a beer with visitors.
Tom proudly served in the Army National Guard for many years, where he took on the role of camp cook—a responsibility he carried out with pride and skill. He was also a devoted member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, Minnesota, where he found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community.
A lover of the outdoors, Tom spent countless hours boating, fishing, and hunting. He also had a passion for his truck—whether driving it or meticulously detailing it. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannette; daughters, Niki Thielen (Jim) and Kim Ahrendt (Shane); son, Jason Huesmann (Stefanie); grandchildren, Dan Thielen (Daphane), Lauren Thielen, Brady Ahrendt (Taylor), Anna Ahrendt-Madsen (Logan), Noah Huesmann, and Aidan Huesmann; as well as great-grandchildren, Josie Ahrendt, Elliott Madsen, and Rory Thielen—expected to arrive this September. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marion Huesmann.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake on June 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM. A Rosary will precede at 9:30 AM, followed by visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The church is located at 35208 Co Rd 37.
