Suzy Baratto, 31, of Crosslake, died Thursday May 26, 2011. Suzy was born on September 16, 1979 in Crosby, the daughter of Jerry and Lauri (Punkka) Baratto. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1998. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Stout. She worked in publishing and advertising and was pursuing a degree in architecture. She enjoyed life and everything she could fit into it.
Suzy will be remembered as a people person with a magnetic personality, if she met someone they were her friend. Her sparkling blue eyes and big smile were unforgettable. She was never one to judge others, and always saw the best in everyone. She gave so much of herself to those she loved, all you had to do was ask and Suzy was there. There are not enough words to describe the wonderful person she was, fun loving and morally solid at the same time. She will be missed by thousands; her leaving left a whole in so many lives.
Suzy is survived by her parents, Jerry and Lauri Baratto, of Crosslake; sisters, Renae (Matt) Balmer, of Crosslake and Jeanna (Seth) Landon, of Nisswa; niece and nephews, Sydney, Wyatt, Huck, and Hudson; and her paternal grandparents, Ben and Audrey Baratto, of Hill City. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lauri and Dorothy Punkka.
Funeral Services are planned for 11 AM, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church (The Log Church) with Pastor Scott Pederson officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
