Born in Browerville, Minnesota to Gene and June Goff on September 29, 1962, Sue spent her formative years nestled in the heart of the Midwest in Clarissa, Minnesota. Whether she was lending a hand on the family farm, caring for neighborhood children, or exploring the countryside on her dirt bike, Sue embraced life’s adventures with vigor.
Following her graduation from Clarissa High School in 1980, Sue balanced the demands of motherhood with her responsibilities on the family farm and enjoyed working at the local plumbing shop and tree nursery. Somehow finding time to attend and graduate from Wadena Technical School. She cherished babysitting her nieces, nephews, and friends’ children whenever she could. Despite her busy schedule, Sue’s focus always remained on her children and her love for animals. This caring nature ultimately led her to a fulfilling career as a home health aide. Sue’s clients appreciated not only her meticulous care but also the friendship she offered, always brightening their day with her presence.
In 2013, Sue made the decision to start a new chapter in her life by moving to Florida, enticed by its sunny skies and sandy beaches. She briefly resided in a charming house in Alabama before returning to Palm Bay, Florida, where she felt most at home.
Sue’s love for animals was evident throughout her life, as she adored spending countless hours with her miniature ponies and had rescued three dogs from humane societies. She also took pleasure in restoring antique composition dolls, and to improve her skills, she journeyed to Virginia to attend a doll restoration class. But it was her fascination with genealogy that truly captivated her, not only for the historical facts but for the collection of stories it uncovered.
