Stormy Knight

Stormy Knight, age 65, passed away on July 27th, 2025, late into the night surrounded by and in the arms of her family in their home in Brainerd, Minnesota. Stormy passed after a long, mettlesome fight with cancer, and while this fight was taxing, her faith, love and spirit stayed strong and never diminished.

Stormy was born on May 26th, 1960, in Portland, Oregon. She was raised by her parents, Mary and Louis, alongside her five sisters and two brothers. Stormy had four children of her own, Faben Roost, Shane Valentin, Joshua Valentin, and Nievedia Ross. She is survived by her children; Joshua Valentin, Anastacia Viele (step-daughter), her grandchildren; Christi Valentin, Jace Valentin, May-Reyana Karlstad, Ava Viele, and Eli Viele.

Stormy was a very compassionate and loving woman. She had a deep-rooted passion in herbalism and spirituality. If she wasn’t at home loving and taking care of her kids or grandkids, chances are you would find her in the woods either camping or, as she would say, mushroom hunting. Stormy had an unwavering relationship with God and her faith was one of the things that made her a role model to many. She was known for her pranks and stories that she would tell on late nights around the campfire. Stormy was the type of woman who made any and all that crossed her path feel loved and seen. She had the strength of a bull and the heart of a mama bear. She touched the hearts of countless people throughout her life, and her spirit lives on in the stories and laughs passed down from her legacy.

All that knew Stormy are welcome to come to her service on August 8th, 2025, at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter at 3:00pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the Chapel. There will be a dinner afterwards in the family’s home, please speak to May-Reyana if you are interested in going.
