Steven Mark Bardolph
Steven Mark Bardolph passed away on September 7, 2025, at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, at the age of 81 from complications of an infection.
Steve was born on August 3, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Peter and Celia Bardolph. He grew up in Cicero, Illinois, and attended Timothy Christian Schools. He studied at Calvin College and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He was married to Kathryn Bardolph whom he met when they were baptized together as infants.
Steve had a career as an orthopedic surgeon in Brainerd, Minnesota, traveled for medical missions abroad, and served as Missions Director at his church. He was a friend to loons, providing them nesting platforms, and enjoyed traveling, camping, bicycling, paddling, skiing, singing and building things for and with those he loved. He just finished a two-week trip to Hawaii, celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary with Kathy, along with his three children, their spouses, (Steve and Jen, Ally and Nate Hiltner, Dan and Liza) and his 6 grandchildren (Jude, India, Gethsemane, Zane, Cadence and Callen). He loved his family, his dog Zoey, and Jesus.
He enjoyed organizing trips for his siblings Doug and Beth Bardolph, Peter and Kathy Bardolph, and Ruth Terpstra to both Italy and Germany.
His beloved sister Carol passed away in 2018.
Steve was a kind, generous person. He lavished his love on his family and friends. He never bowed to his physical limitations, and he never stopped professing his faith in our good Father.
