Steve W. Parker, 78, of Breezy Point, MN passed away on January 31, 2026, in Pine River, MN comforted by unwavering support from his beloved wife of 58 years Penni (Ward) Parker. Anyone who knew Steve can validate his resilience, strength, and tenacity throughout his life and especially over these past few years of difficult health challenges.
Steve was born November 25, 1947 in Stanley, WI, the eldest son of John and Dorothy (Gwiazdon) Parker. He grew up in Wausau, WI and moved to Minneapolis to attend Gale Institute; graduating with a degree in Mechanical Design and meeting his future bride. Steve spent over 30 years of his career designing conveying equipment and other mechanical systems for companies all over the world. In 2000, Steve founded CDM Systems, Inc., an engineering and equipment manufacturer still in operation today.
Most importantly, Steve will be remembered as a devoted husband and nurturing father--with a bold, take-charge personality that sometimes outmatched his big caring heart. He took great pride in maintaining the lake home and property he and Penni created over many years and was always eager to share the Breezy Point experience with his friends and family. Steve was an energetic, hardworking man who thoroughly enjoyed his lifelong passions for the outdoors, hunting, and fast cars.
Steve is survived by his wife, Penni; and son, Andrew, daughter-in-law, Addy, and grandson, Colton of Princeton, MN. He is further survived by his sisters, Patti Howard of Merrill, WI and Lisa Parker of Reston, VA; his brother, Tom Parker of Wausau, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Parker and his brother, Bob of Ingleside, TX.
A “Celebration of Life” this summer will be announced at a later date.
