Steve Erickson

July 3, 1944 — June 29, 2019

Steven Lee Erickson, of Pequot Lakes, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Steve was born to John and Mabel (Haroldson) July 3,1944 and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1962. He then attended the University of Minnesota business school and maintained a relationship with the Carlson School of Management throughout his life. While in his twenties, he served in the Army Reserves and began a successful career with his family in the retail food industry. During his career Steve achieved great success as a Super Valu retailer, even being recognized as Minnesota Grocer of the Year in 1989. Throughout his life, Steve gave generously of his time by serving on many committees and boards aimed at improving his industry, community and environment. Steve cared deeply for his family and friends and cherished the time he spent with them. He also enjoyed spending time on the lake, golfing, working in his yard and cheering for his favorite Minnesota sports teams.

Steve is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Patti (Rocholl); daughter, Kelly (Shea) Mangus; son, Ryan; daughter, Ali (Matt) Loaney; grandchildren: Connor, Cassidy, Adriana, and Brynlee; brother, Mike (Madelyn); and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg.

Services will be held at Timberwood Church in Nisswa, MN, on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Visitation will begin at 10 am and the service will begin at 11.
