Shirley Parker

Shirley Ann Parker, 73, of Lake Shore, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at St. Cloud Hospital, MN because of heart failure. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 5 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather starting at 9:30 Wednesday morning and stay for a luncheon to follow. Memorials preferred to the Nisswa American Legion Quilters.

Shirley leaves behind her husband, Dwight; daughter Debbie (Art) Sanbeck; sons, Mike (Cindy) and Tom (Michele); grandchildren, Anna, Alec, Madisyn and Meghyn; several nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

Shirley was a stay at home mom until the kids started school, but she made time to take them to extra-curricular activities. She worked outside the home at Lutheran Church of the Cross and part-time at Alderman Hardware and from there she went to work in the accounting department at Grand View. In the mid 1990s, she retired with Dwight but remained active. She was a member of the Nisswa American Auxiliary. She liked to make quilts and play cards.
