Shelton Wright

Shelton “Gene” Eugene Wright, 75, of Brainerd, MN passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Baxter, MN. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Shelton was born on January 27, 1943 in Des Moines, IA to Keith and Pauline (Schroeder) Wright. He graduated from Drake University and also received his Master’s Degree from St. Cloud State University. He served our country in the Vietnam War in the Marine Corps. Gene worked as a teacher at Pequot Lakes High School for 26 years. He was a volunteer at Heartland Hospice and loved scuba diving, motorcycles, and reading. Gene loved his dogs and appreciated all animals.

Shelton is survived by his four sons, Jeff, Kyle, Chris, and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian and his parents, Keith and Pauline. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
