Sharon Wortham (née Edwards), age 85, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Sartell, Minnesota. Born on January 15,1940, in Chesapeake, Ohio, she lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and quiet joys found in nature and community.
Sharon was the daughter of Miller and Maxine Edwards. From an early age, she carried with her a gentle spirit and a warm heart that would define her relationships throughout her life. She met the love of her life, William Raymond Wortham-known to many as Bill-when he caught her eye in his distinguished United States Marine Corps uniform. From that moment on, Sharon knew he was the one. Their marriage spanned more than sixty years and was a testament to enduring love and commitment, even when the bonds were tested by tragedy.
Together, Sharon and Bill built a home filled with warmth and purpose. As a devoted wife and mother, Sharon often made personal sacrifices to ensure the well-being of those she loved. Her nurturing presence shaped the lives of their children and left an indelible mark on their family.
Sharon found great joy I the natural world around her. She cherished her home in the woods, where she enjoyed observing birds and wildlife from her windows. The deer that frequented their property became familiar companions-so much so that they were known by name.
Faith played a central role in Sharon’s life. She and Bill were active members of their church community, offering their time and talents generously over the years. Whether mastering the art of pasty making or hauling goods for the annual garage sale, Sharon served with cheerfulness and dedication. Her willingness to lend a hand wherever needed helped strengthen the congregation’s mission and brought people together in fellowship.
Those who encountered Sharon were often struck by her kindness and openness. She had an uncanny ability to connect with others-whether seated next to someone on a plane or chatting with a stranger in line at the grocery store, she could quickly turn an acquaintance into a friend.
Sharon is survived by her daughters Suzanne (Tom) Ressemann of Nisswa and Angela Wortham of St. Cloud; grandsons Matthew (Katie) Ressemann of Fargo and Ryan Ressemann of Minneapolis; as well as many others who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill; son William Scott Wortham; and parents Miller Carlyle and Sarah Maxine Edwards.
