Scott Zahn

June 7, 1955 — September 27, 2021

To many - a friend. To some - a beloved family member. To 3 children – an incredible father. And to one - a loyal & loving husband of 39 years.

On Monday September 27th, 2021 at 5:07 in the afternoon, Scott Zahn took his last few breaths with his family at his side. A long, incredibly hard, and courageously fought battle with cancer is now over. His tenacity during this battle embodies not just his determination, but his will to live life.

Scott lived life to the fullest; perhaps beyond. Grounded by the family he raised with his wife Beth & the desire to provide, Scott spent his life building multiple construction companies throughout the span of nearly half a century. Working day and night, he built a legacy that endures today. Hiring friends and family along the way, his tenacious spirit endeavored each day he lived as he worked to build a life for more than just himself. A self-made man in every aspect of life, his drive to succeed powered him along to the very end.

He strove to create an environment that fostered everything in which embodied his views of family. Compassion, forgiveness, encouragement, loyalty, hard-work, and ultimately love. He never gave up on anyone nor anything unless he had no other choice. His mentality was always to give to others, close and far, and to make sure this world was a better place for it.

Along with his tenacious work ethic, Scott also found pleasure in many things in life. He was a helicopter pilot, a musician, an avid Harley enthusiast, an admirer of all things classic and anything that had a motor. Spending time on the water with a line in it, or in a deer stand within the woods, was amongst his most favorite. He was great to converse with over a cold one and would make anyone in the room laugh and smile at his wit and his character.

Ultimately, it was the time that he was able to spend with the ones he loved most that brought him the greatest peace in life. And with being by his side to the very end, is what was able to be done to peacefully carry him into God’s hands and to the life thereafter.

Scott is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beth(Brown) Zahn, his children Holly(John), Tyler(Danielle), and Jesse, his mother Evelyn(Steven) Toth, siblings Susan(Steve) Borders and Mark(Judy) Zahn, his brother in-law Scott(Sue) Brown, his grandchildren, Matlyn, Mason, Ayden, Emma, Ava, and Alivia, nieces and nephews, Kyle Brown, Patrick Brown, Jason Zahn, Kevin Zahn, Joel Borders, and Kristen Nottingham.

He is preceded in death by his father Marvin Dwight Zahn, his nephew Dustin Brown, and niece Rebecca Zahn.
