Scott Kraft, age 59, of Pine River, MN passed away at his home on September 28, 2018, after a brief courageous battle against melanoma cancer. Scott was born in Aberdeen, SD, and then as a young boy moved to Burnsville, MN, with his family. While attending Burnsville High School he enjoyed playing hockey, going hunting and fishing and spending time with his family especially his 4 siblings. After graduating from Burnsville in 1978 he started his roofing career of which he was extremely proud and very excellent at. Scott married Roberta Davies in 1983 and they later divorced. He married Susan Hughes in 1990 while he continued to roof. Scott and his wife, Sue, bought Bayside Cabins in Backus. He enjoyed running the resort and meeting new people for 15 years. After that Scott and Sue decided to sell the resort and settle in Pine River. Scott enjoyed spending time in his home in SD with family and friends where he kept on the family tradition of hunting and vacationing. He also enjoyed walking and spending time with his dog, Riley.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Sue Kraft of Pine River, MN; his daughters: Heidi Mints (Mike) of CO, Megan Scheerhoorn of Jordan, MN, Jenna Mims (Shawn) of Shakopee, MN, Carly Zwart (Drew) of Backus, MN and Alaina Kraft (Shane) of Pine River, MN; his parents, Alan Kraft (Denise) of Brainerd, MN, and Jan Kraft of Minneapolis; sister, Debbie Kelly (Mike); brothers: Kendall (Ammie), Steve (Brenda), Kenny (Mary); half-sisters, Amanda Lee (T.J.) and Samantha Kraft. Scott left behind several grandchildren who he adored greatly: Hannah, Brian, Brenden, Dylan, Brynn, Evan, Destiny, Madelyn, Faith, Dominic, Alivia, Ava, Dawson; along with many nieces and nephews. Family he is reunited with include his infant daughter, Kara, grandparents Al and Besse Kraft and Bennett and Ella Yuker.
Services will be 11 AM on Wednesday, October 3, at Riverview Church, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, October 19 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Aberdeen, SD.
