Sara Matros

Sara Belle Matros, 63, of Pine River passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer. She was born July 27, 1948 in Brainerd to Edwin and Madge (Hardy) Durm. The Kline Funeral Home of Pine River is in charge of the arrangements.

Sara Durm grew up in the Pine River area where she graduated from high school. She and Frank Matros were married on August 6, 1966 in Pine River. They moved to Minneapolis where she was a plant manager for a manufacturing company until 1990 when they moved back to Pine River. Sara worked for Permatite Manufacturing as a supervisor.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bon fires, crocheting, crafting and spending time with her family.

Sara is survived by her husband, Frank of Pine River; daughters, Lynn (Tom) Voigt of East Bethel, MN and Tami (Pat) Murphy of Crosslake, MN; two grandchildren, Thomas Voigt of East Bethel and Michael Scheuss of Crosslake; five step grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Chet (June) Durm of Pine River, Edwin (Delores) Durm of Merrifield, MN and Kenny (Mavis) Durm of Fertile, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one step great-grandchild and a nephew.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Swanburg Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Swanburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kline Funeral Home in Pine River.
