Sandra Kay Luoma (Lambert), age 78, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1947, in Bagley, Minnesota. Throughout her life, Sandra made her home in Twig and Staples, Minnesota, where she built a life full of love, laughter, honesty, and deep connection. She passed on a meaningful day that coincided with Elvis Presley’s birthday — a small detail that brought comfort to those who knew how much she loved him.

Sandra is survived by her children, Julie Schey (Craig Hennagir) and Shannon Luoma (Chrissy Gilsrud). She was a proud grandmother to Skylar Kenyon (Cody Kenyon), Christian Scheler (Daija Halvorson), Dakota Hennagir (Jayda Davis), and Wyatt Kobliska, and a loving great-grandmother to Easton and Ledger Kenyon, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Jody Smith and Joseph Hollister.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Marlys and Joe Hollister, and her father, Juel Lambert.

Sandra had a youthful spirit that never faded — a woman whose heart stayed young and curious throughout her life. One of her greatest accomplishments was returning to college later in life, where she graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth with a degree in Social Work. It was a milestone she was deeply proud of and a reflection of her compassion, strength, and determination to help others.

She loved going to the movies, shopping, crafting, and spending time in her favorite place, Duluth, Minnesota, which always felt like home to her soul. A lifelong Elvis Presley fan, her love for music brought her so much joy.

Sandra was known for having no filter and a whole lot of honesty. She always said exactly what she meant — and if she loved you, you knew it. Her love was loyal, fierce, and deeply personal.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Sandra shared a close, one-on-one relationship with Jesus that guided her through life and brought her comfort and peace.

Above all else, Sandra was the person you could call late at night — the one who listened deeply, spoke honestly, and loved fully. She will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her strength, and the lasting impact she left on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Brenny’s Funeral Home in Staples, Minnesota, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved
