Ronald Hopkins

Ronald "Ron" Hopkins, 47, of Pine River passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Church of The Nazarene, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Ron Hopkins was born July 11, 1963 in St. Paul, MN the son of Richard and Carol (Peterson) Hopkins. He grew up in the Backus area and attended school in Pine River. Ron had owned the Eagle Bait Shop in Backus and also sold bait from his home. He later worked for the Longville Post Office as a mail carrier. Ron and Deb were married February 16, 2007. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; children, Angela, Jessica, Lee, Johnathan, Veronica, Jacob and Willy; his parents Richard and Carol Hopkins; brothers, Jimmy (Janice), Roger (Shelly) and Rick; his mother and father-in-law, Donald and Delores Szymanski and by his little dog, Buddy.
