Roger Merle Hansen

Roger Merl Hansen of Pillager MN, passed away suddenly on May 23, 2025 at the age of 69. Formerly of Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Roger was born on September 20th, 1955 and was a proud 1973 graduate of Osseo High School. Roger went on to a rewarding career in machine maintenance and facilities management, as well as serving as a volunteer firefighter for Blaine/Moundsview/Spring Lake Park. Upon retiring Roger and Patty moved to their lake home in the Pillager area fulfilling his lifelong dream.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Einer and Joyce (Mack) Hansen, and his sister, Lori Hansen.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patty (Bertrand); his daughter Kelly Ripley (Bryan) and their sons, Trevor and Logan; his daughter Krissy Bailey (Jeff) and their daughters, Whitney and Piper. He is also survived by his brother Ronald (Laura) along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

An avid outdoorsman, Roger found great joy in the woods and on the water. He especially loved spending time on his hunting property carefully managing his land. His passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors was surpassed only by the deep love he had for his family—his children and his beloved wife, Patty, were the center of his world.

Roger’s life was defined by his dedication to the people he loved and the natural world he treasured. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
