Richard (Dick) was born December 12, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN to Warren and Gena (Tasa) Lausen. He grew up in Sacred Heart and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Dick married Lynette (Kaaz) Lausen on July 7, 1970. He served his country in the Army as a Sergeant in Vietnam operating Heavy Equipment and Operating Gunboats in the Vietnamese Rivers.

Dick worked at many places in Sacred Heart MN area and after finishing up his AAS Electronics Degree at Granite Falls Vocational college he started work at the Renville Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative. After that the family moved to Sartell where he worked at the St Regis paper plant. Then over the years he moved to Texas, Illinois, Michigan working at various paper plants as a Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor. He then made a final move back to the paper plant (St. Regis now Verso Paper) where he started in Sartell MN. He then retired to take care of his wife Lynette Lausen as she was ill.

Dick was a family man. He was always there when needed. He raced cars in his younger years. He liked to go hunting with his son Brett. He liked fishing but not eating them! He was involved in many projects around the house from working on his Porches to house renovation projects. He always had help from his grandsons (Matthew and Benjamin) that always made him smile. Since he had an interest in baseball growing up he also enjoyed seeing as many games his daughter Kate played in and later helped coach T-Ball for Grandson Matthew. He also enjoyed the many laughs at the weekly morning breakfast out with his daughter in law Jody. His pride in being a Veteran had also rubbed off on his daughter also joining the armed forces.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents Warren and Gena Lausen, and his sister Jan (Lausen) Lang.

He is survived by his Son Brett (Jody) Lausen, his grand kids Matthew Lausen and Benjamin Lausen, and daughter Kate (Melissa) Lausen

He is also survived by siblings: Barb Rykken, Carol VanDenEinde, Wanda (Doug) Josephson, Julie (Kink) Hoff and Lori (Jesse) Martinez. He will be missed by countless relatives and friends.
