Richard Dwain Boileau,
He was born to Luke and Angeline Boileau on March 18, 1938. He passed away on October 1, 2025, with family members by his side, at the age of 87.
Richard suffered a stroke on July 15, 2020, and entered long term care on July 23, 2020. He was courageous, strong, and maintained a good attitude during his time in long term care.
Richard graduated from Brainerd High School and went on to serve our country in the Army Reserves. After his military service, he was employed by Potlatch Papermill for 41 years and as a Brainerd Volunteer Fire Fighter for over 20 years.
Richard loved many things in life, early in his life he regularly participated in basketball and weightlifting. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, and he was an avid Vikings fan for many years. He was competitive in his love for playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
He was passionate about his vegetable and flower gardens; he loved the beauty of it all and seemed to find a peace with God working in his yard and gardens. There really was not too much he couldn’t build, fix, or repair. He, along with his wife, Ruth, enjoyed making and painting items in their woodworking shop and then hitting the road to participate in craft shows.
But what he loved most in life was spending time with his wife and family. Richard survived by his wife Ruth and their three children and their spouses, Ronda (spouse, Roger LaPointe), Rick, Renee (spouse, Chuck Monson), nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters; Darlene Strange, spouse Tom and Mary Gunderson, spouse Pete.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Luke, mother, Angeline, and brother, Gerald.
Our family gives a special thank you to Moments Hospice for their attentive care and compassion for the loss of our father and husband.
