Raymond C Lovitz age 86 of Pequot Lakes passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Bethany Good Samaritan Home. He was born May 1, 1932, in Sauk Rapids on the family farm to Carl and Lena Lovitz. Ray worked at the Sauk Rapids Dairy for over 30 years and served on the local fire department. He retired from Target in 1998. Ray served in the military andwas a member of the VFW and American Legion Post. Ray was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge, letting all know each Spring when he spotted the first hummingbird. A walk down a gravel road wasn't just for exercise, there were agates to be found. His favorite sport was fishing, lots of fishing. Deer hunting with his sons and grandsons created memories and a lifelong tradition. If Ray wasn't fishing or hunting, you would find him in his woodworking shop.
Ray is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane; son, Curt (Cindy) Lovitz of Breezy Point, son, Ken (Deann) Lovitz of Clearwater, daughter, Jane (Rob) Mason of East Gull Lake, son, Gary (Brenda) Lovitz of Sauk Rapids and son, Paul Lovitz of Sauk Rapids; stepchildren: Kerry Kuklok of St. Cloud, Bill (Kristina) Nolden of Gardnerville NV and Karla Fitzharris of Pequot Lakes; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Geri) Lovitz of Sauk Rapids, sister, Elaine Dollar of Sauk Rapids and sister, Ruth Reber of Sauk Rapids. Preceding Ray in death are his parents; first wife Violet; daughter, Diane; and sister, Irene. A private family gathering to spread Ray's ashes will be held at a later date.
