Raymond Kuschel

Raymond R. Kuschel, age 90, of Maple Grove Twp. died on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 17, at 11:00 AM, at St. Andrew?s Catholic Church in Brainerd, with Reverend Dr. Paul Fruth officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, April 16, from 6-8:00 PM, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
Raymond ?Ray? Kuschel was born on August 7, 1910, in Sauk Rapids, to Godleib and Ovidia (Emmerson) Kuschel. He grew up in Sauk Rapids, and was married to Irene Holmes on February 19, 1938, in Holdingford. The family moved to Mille Lacs Lake for a few years, and then to Pine Center where they operated a bait shop. Ray also worked as a carpenter and as a custodian at the Onamia Hospital. He enjoyed woodworking, and fishing.

Raymond Kuschel is survived by his wife Irene; a daughter Betty Jean Patrin of Bay City, WI; 2 sons Kenneth (Shirley) Kuschel of Garrison, and David (Carol) Kuschel of Anoka; a sister Hazel Dolenshek of Klamath Falls, OR; 2 step-sisters Margaret Hamilton of Sauk Rapids and Irene Milner of Anoka; a half-brother Leonard Kuschel of Sauk Rapids; a step-brother John ?Jake? Bartishofski of Garrison; 8 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. His parents and several siblings preceded him in death.
