Randy Wayne Lind
April 26, 1963 - June 24, 2026
Our Sweet brother Randy entered through Heaven’s Gates, into the arms of Jesus at 63 years “Young!” He now has the new body he said God would give him someday.
Randy was a happy little boy who grew up with two loving parents and three sisters who adored him. He attended special education classes in Brainerd from the age of 4 until he graduated high school at age 21. He loved learning and had amazing teachers. Randy participated in many track events in Special Olympics, Boy Scouts, and activities at Camp Confidence.
Randy loved being outdoors, walking in the woods, or riding his bike to visit friends and neighbors. He enjoyed boat rides, fishing, and bowling with his dad.
Mowing the lawn, raking leaves, getting the mail, and putting out the garbage were some of his favorite things to do. He was Moms best helper around the house; folding clothes, drying dishes, making beds, and being her #1 cookie eater!
He was such a hard worker and took such pride in all he did. He would finish a job and say “What’s next?”
Randy loved music! He played guitar, harmonica and electronic piano. Everyone in the family has had the special pleasure of having Randy sing and play guitar on their birthday.
Randy loved the Lord and going to church. He enjoyed singing hymns and often raised up his hands in praise. He liked to talk about heaven, God, and angels.
Randy worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken for 25 years! He loved his job, having a routine, and was so proud when he got his paychecks. He retired at the age of 50.
Randy loved his family and was the best uncle. Arm wrestling, 4-wheeling, making forts in the woods, and playing games are some of the things he liked to do with his nieces and nephews. He loved to tease and make people laugh. His big smile lit up the room. His cute giggle will forever be one of our families’ favorite things about him.
Randy attended two adult day programs: Brighter Horizons and Blue Sky. He had many wonderful friends and such wonderful caring staff at each of these places. Randy has lived in his childhood home for 59 years and after some serious health issues moved into LSS Oriole Group Home in Brainerd. He lived there for 4.5 years until his passing. We will forever be grateful to all the amazing and exceptional women who took such great care of him and made him feel so special and loved. Thank you to anyone who has blessed Randy’s life in some way.
We feel that God has sent Randy to our family to teach us many things such as compassion, love, patience, tolerance, and humility. He will be greatly missed but the memories we have of him will always be close in our hearts.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents; Carlos and Inez Lind and his brother-in-law John Vogel.
Randy’s surviving family members include his sisters; Deanna Vogel, Karen (Bruce) Rugloski, and Kim Herrmann. Nieces and nephews; Eric (Courtney) Vogel, Scott (Elizabeth) Vogel, Brian (Elizabeth) Vogel, Jacob, Emily (Ethan) and Sam Rugloski, Nick, Josh (Erin) Herrmann, Amanda (Trevor) Landsem and 17 great nieces and nephews.
