Phyllis Williams

Phyllis A. Williams, 84, of Crosslake, passed away September 1, 2010 at Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Crosslake, MN. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Crosslake Presbyterian Church with Reverend Roger Grussing officiating. Friends are welcome to gather Friday evening from 4 - 7 PM at the church and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be at a later date in Sac City Municipal Cemetery in Sac City, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Crosslake Presbyterian Church.

Phyllis was born April 11, 1926 in Sac County, IA, the daughter of Clifford and Naomi (Therkelsen) Irwin. Phyllis was a graduate of Sac City High School Class of 1943. In 1945, she was united in marriage to Reverend Dean Williams. She attended Northern Iowa University and graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She taught for a short time after graduation before staying at home to raise her family. Phyllis' interests revolved around her family, church, music and children.

She will be missed by her husband, Rev. Dean Williams; her children, Rev. Lynn (Lois) Williams, of Grimes, IA, Doug (Randi) Williams, of Columbus, NE, Carolyn (Thomas Stackland) Williams, of Duluth, MN, Rev. Kate (Allan Brown) Stangl, of Crosslake, and Rev. Dwight (Carol) Williams, Omaha, NE; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Catherine Ringgenberg, of Sac City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
