Nicholas James Tomasko, 26, of Crosslake, lived a life full of joy, connection, and love that will never be forgotten.
Nicholas James Tomasko was born on May 21, 1999, in Wyoming, Minnesota at Fairview Hospital. He grew up in Wyoming, where he attended Wyoming Elementary, and later graduated from Forest Lake High School in 2018. He continued his journey in the STEP program in Forest Lake, where he built friendships and community in a program designed for young adults with disabilities.
A few years later, Nicholas James Tomasko moved with his parents to Crosslake, Minnesota, where he truly embraced northern life, spending his days boating, being outdoors, and enjoying his favorite treat, piña coladas. He loved being out in the sunshine, surrounded by people, laughter, and music.
Nicholas James Tomasko had a personality that drew people in effortlessly. During his school years, he was known by everyone, loved for his humor, his kindness, and the way he made others feel. He was the kind of person who lit up every room he entered. He loved music, especially going to rock concerts with his family, and found so much happiness in simply being around others. He was always on the move, always smiling, and always bringing joy to those around him.
Nicholas James Tomasko passed away on April 24, 2026, surrounded by love after a courageous and unwavering fight. Through years of health challenges, he showed incredible strength, facing each day with resilience and a heart that never stopped giving. Even in his hardest moments, he continued to share kindness and love with everyone around him.
He is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his devoted family: his mother, Dawn Tomasko; his father, Nick Joseph Tomasko; and his older sister, Jess Tomasko, his lifelong best friend.
Nicholas James Tomasko is now at peace. Free from pain and finally at rest. While his family carries deep sorrow, they also hold onto the comfort that he is now with God in paradise, and that his light and love will continue to live on through everyone who knew him.
A visitation will be held at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating the life of Nicholas James Tomasko will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, with burial to follow at Pinewood Cemetery.
All who knew and loved Nicholas James Tomasko are invited to come together to celebrate his life, share memories, and the happiness he brought into this world. In Nick’s honor we will be having an ice cream toast at his visitation where we will share our favorite memories of him while enjoying one of his favorite foods.
