Michael D. Christianson, 74, of Pillager, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, in Bemidji, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Michael was born on July 6, 1951, in Fosston, Minnesota. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected his deep love for America and the values he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, Michael built a successful career as an aeronautical engineer, where his intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities were put to good use.
Michael was a man of many passions and endless curiosity. He loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or simply soaking up the sunshine. He was a cowboy at heart who loved horses and cherished the freedom they represented. He found joy on the dance floor, spending evenings dancing to live music—especially when the Mark Peterson Band was playing. Whether gathered around a campfire, relaxing on a pontoon, or working on his next project, Michael found happiness in life's simple pleasures.
A thinker, a fixer, and a builder, Michael had a remarkable ability to see possibilities where others saw problems. He enjoyed tackling projects of every size and took pride in creating, repairing, and improving whatever was in front of him. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved the Lord with all his heart.
Above all, Michael treasured time spent with those he loved. His greatest joy was being wherever his beloved wife, Linda, was. Together they built a life filled with adventure, laughter, music, friendship, and unwavering love.
Michael will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda Ward; his daughters, Dani (Jeff) Thorson and Jessica (Mike) Graham; his nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and generous spirit.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
