Melvin Hanson

Melvin Keith Hanson age 74 of (Fair Oaks Nursing Facility) in Wadena Minnesota passed away at the hospital in Wadena on September 1, 2026.

Melvin Keith Hanson was born on January 27, 1952, to Ludvig and Lilian (Skonseng) Hanson. He grew up on a farm near Fullerton North Dakota and graduated from Fullerton Highschool. After Graduation he worked on the family farm until his parents retired and sold, from there he joined the National Guard and eventually made his home in Alexandria, Minnesota where he met and married Anna Patrice (Smith) Hanson. They never had any children of their own but he raised a step son Gregory. His hobbies were fishing, camping, farming, and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Patrice, his parents Ludvig and Lilian, his brothers Arnold, Robert, Harold, and a sister Annabel.

Melvin is survived by his siblings Hermon Hanson, George Hanson, Sophie Peets (Hanson), Donald Hanson, and Stevon Vonttumick; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 4 great nephews, 3 great nieces, 3 great great nephews, and 1 great great niece as well as many friends whom will miss him dearly.
