Melvin Selmer Anderson of Pequot Lakes passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
He was born on October 21, 1915 to Mads and Lena (Olson) Anderson on a farm west of Pequot Lakes, MN.

Before moving to town, Melvin also did seasonal work at a fertilizer plant until 1980. He always kept busy doing yard work and house-sitting for grateful people.
Melvin moved into assisted living in Brainerd, MN in 2005.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ole (Peggy), Anton (Ann), Carl, Sigval (Pearl) and Melvin (infant), and his longtime special friend Jewel Arneson.
Melvin was always active, enjoying over the years snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. But, most of all he embraced people.
He is survived by a niece (Bonnie), four nephews (Marlin, Harvey, Merle, Alfred) and his extended family of Ray and Galeen Wolkenhauer.
