Maureen Anderson

Maureen Linda (Brink) Anderson, 59, passed from this life to the fullness of Gods Kingdom on December 12, 2006 at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. A Memorial Service to celebrate Maureens life among us will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake with a visitation an hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Maureen was born on December 31, 1946 in Grand Forks, ND and grew up in Hallock, MN. After graduating from Hallock High School in 1964 she attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, graduating in 1968. On August 24, 1968 she was joined in marriage to Mark Anderson. Because of Marks job as a Lutheran pastor, they lived in St. Paul, MN, Gresham, OR, Valley Springs, SD, and Brainerd for the past 20 years.

Maureen put mark through Seminary by working at Valspar (Minnesota Paints) as a secretary. Once the kids came along she devoted her energies to working in the Brandon Valley school system in South Dakota and in ISD # 181 here in Brainerd. She enjoyed work as a teaching assistant at Franklin and, most recently, at South Campus. Maureen was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church and HART. She loved animals, especially dogs. When she lived in South Dakota, word got around that if you wanted a good home for a dog you no longer wanted; drop it off near the Lutheran Parsonage, and no worries.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 38 years, Mark; son Christopher (Kelle) Anderson, of Hudson, WI; daughter, Caryn (Chad) OKulich, of Troy, MI; son Chad Anderson, of Brainerd; grandchildren, Betsy and Mitchell Anderson, of Hudson, WI; sister Mary (Chet) Fowler, of Burnsville, MN; and sister-in-law Mary (Jim) Kunelius, of Waterville, MN. Three nieces, two nephews and several cousins also survive. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Esther Brink.
