Matthew Palmer

Matthew Cole Palmer, of Nisswa, MN, born September 30, 1990, to Darrel and Carol Palmer in Cloquet, MN, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Nisswa, MN.

Matthew was the kind of person who would help anyone. He was very protective of his family and loved them deeply. Matthew worked at Cross-Tech in Crosslake as a welder and more recently worked at Lexington Manufacturing as an equipment operator. He loved to spend time outdoors, even enjoying the quiet of the woods after dark. He liked fishing, scouting, being at the hunting shack, and a variety of hunting, including deer, goose, and coyote. Matthew also enjoyed getting his hands dirty by working on cars, snowmobiles, and ATVs and tinkering in the shop.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Darrel and Carol Palmer; brother, James (Ryann) Palmer and their children, Josie and Brooke; brother, Andy (Brittany) Palmer and their children, Celia, Dave, and Elsie; sister, Danielle (Josh) Schenk and their children, Raegann, Renlee, and Reese; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Matthew is preceded in death by all of his grandparents and aunt, Rita Verdon.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Brenny Funeral Home in Baxter, MN. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service and burial will be at 2 PM.

Please dress casually, wearing camouflage is welcome.
