Mary Louise Crosby, 75, of Longville, Minnesota, left this world on September 29th, 2024, to go to her new Home and to reunite with her beloved husband, Bill. Mary was born on April 25th, 1949, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Norman and Charlotte "Esther" Dauber. In 1967, Mary graduated from Backus High School where she met the love of her life. She married William "Bill" Crosby in 1968 and together they had two sons, Dean and Dale. Mary and Bill built a life for themselves on a small farm where she enjoyed raising her children, gardening, tending to livestock, and upkeep on their property. As time allowed, Mary and Bill would spend time vacationing in the summers in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, where they always felt at home. They loved watching sports on TV and watching their hometown teams play. Mary spent many evenings playing the piano, painting, and doing puzzles. She cherished her family and friends with all her heart! Mary lived with a strong faith, often playing piano and singing in her local church. She is often described as a great friend with a gentle and caring heart.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Dean (Dawn) and Dale (Jana); her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Floyd Dauber and Sharon (Lee) Lanz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Norman and Esther Dauber; sister-in-law, Amy Dauber; and baby brother, Dean Allen.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at the Riverview Church in Pine River, MN, where Bill and Mary were married 56 years ago. A gathering will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00. Lunch to follow. Mary will join Bill in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Duluth at a later date.
Special thank you to the caring staff and hospice workers at Shiloh Assisted Living in Pequot Lakes, MN.
