Mary Ann Kline, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community member, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Brainerd, Minnesota, on September 14, 1936 to James, Sr and Mary Alice (Christian) Gearey, Mary Ann graduated from Pine River High School where she laid the foundations for her lifelong commitment to family and community.
She married Robert "Bob" Kline, on January 22, 1955. Together, they shared 49 years of marriage until Bob's passing in 2004. They were blessed with six "energetic" sons, whom Mary Ann raised with unwavering love and dedication.
A dedicated homemaker, Mary Ann also extended her nurturing spirit beyond her family by running an in-home daycare for several years. Later in life, she embraced a new role as a Home Care Hospice provider, offering comfort and care to those in their final days.
Mary Ann was an active and devoted member of the Pine River Methodist Church, where she found joy in singing with the choir.
Creativity flourished in Mary Ann through her hobbies. She had a passion for music, crafting, painting, and quilting, often sharing her beautiful creations with friends and family. Her volunteer work at the local thrift store in Pine River provided her with joy and the opportunity to engage and socialize with her community.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving parents, her husband Bob, her son David, and her brothers, James Gearey, Jr, and Joe Gearey. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Geary (Sandra), Mike (Deb), Roger (Patricia), Kelly (Ronda), Lee (Debi), and daughter-in-law Sheri. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Rich) Carlson and Paula Bohannon, her brother, Lynn (Deb) Gearey, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Mary Ann's life will be held on October 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Pine River, MN with visitation at 10:00 AM. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Caring Hearts Senior Community Center and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Moments Hospice Foundation in Golden Valley, MN, to honor Mary Ann's memory and support a cause dear to her heart.
Mary Ann's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
