Marvin Emmett Wernberg, age 75, formerly of Blackduck MN passed away on May 2, 2019 and is now home with the Lord. He is survived by Doris Carter; wife, Lonnie Wernberg; brother, Marlene Weyaus; daughter, Michael Wernberg; son, Lori Towner; daughter, Alicia Wernberg; granddaughter, Micah Joosten; grandson, Jenna Joosten; granddaughter, Jonah Joosten; grandson, Jordan; great grandson and Iris Wernberg, loving ex-wife. He is proceeded in death by Emmett Wernberg; father, Lillian Wernberg; mother, and Leland Wernberg, Roy Wernberg, Denny Wernberg; brothers.
Marvin grew up on the Wernberg farm in Blackduck MN. After graduation he served in the Navy. He spent his life working as a tool and dye maker and as a mechanic, machinist and inventor. Music was always a big part of Marvin’s life. He was an accomplished musician who played the trombone, accordion, guitar, harmonica, and also sang and was a songwriter. He brought his love of music to his children with the family band “The Hoot N’ Toots”, who performed throughout Minnesota. He kept his love of music with him always and enjoyed a wonderful day of music making in his last days with his grandchildren.
